Independent / Reader submissions

Independent Playlist.

Independent music, one link at a time. Explore tracks selected from reader submissions, or send us yours with a Spotify link and a genre.

For artists & listeners

Send us a track.

Just a Spotify track link and a genre. No Spotify sign-in required.

Read the Independent Chart rules to learn how playlist tracks will join the planned weekly readers’ chart.

Every submission is reviewed. Sending a link does not guarantee inclusion. A track can only be submitted once. This is the magazine’s selection; it does not automatically add tracks to a Spotify playlist.

Privacy & playback

We store your track link, genre and submission time. A temporary hash of your network address helps limit spam; the raw address is not stored in the playlist database. Spotify players connect to Spotify and follow its privacy and playback settings. Listening availability varies.
